As you can see, we like names that can be shortened in various ways! Am about five days overdue and we just can't decide!

Adults who tease other adults over names and, in all seriousness say things like "Poor bugger, doesn't he know..." over the name Johnny are, I'm afraid, twats. It's not like he's called Arsewipe. It's a perfectly good name - some people will find teasing material in literally anything.

Jeez, you'd like to think that by the age of 25 men have other things to do than seek out ways of "ribbing each other" over playground jibes.

Anyway, OP, Johnny Depp seems to have done ok out of it. Go for it Smile

I really do agree with you and think it is silly but that is the way that it is.
That is why we took AGES trying to think of a name that didn't sound silly with our surname, we looked at the initals, we looked at what things the name would rhyme with. We didn't want to set the child up for a lifetime of ridicule so any outlandish names we fancied we soon dismissed - I'm from a gritty working class area so want to fit in.

One things for sure, it ain't easy naming a baby!!!
Like I said before go for the name you want.
