Am currently expecting DC6(!). Bump will be much longed-for DS1. Already have:

Saffron
Dahlia
Violet
Tulip
Blossom

We would love to carry on the 'flower' theme for DS, but we don't mind branching into 'nature theme. Any ideas?

Rowan and Ash are by far the best so far.

CheerfulYank · 11/04/2011 19:12

I like River and Rowan a lot. Ash and Thorne are all right. :)

(I love it when people choose nature-y names...I'm a Jack/Sam/Annie kind of girl myself, but I enjoy other peoples' choices. :) )

Jonquil is used for a boy's name (daffodil).

blueberrymoon · 11/04/2011 20:48

I'm watching this thread with interest as my DS's middle name is River which we love, and have wondered about carrying on the nature theme for future DC. I am liking Reef at the moment for middle name of possible future DS!

Not heard of Tannon before, rather like it!

womma · 11/04/2011 22:03

My gran's family were all flowery girls and the only boy was (sweet) William, aah.

Their dad used to have a little posy of each flower in his buttonhole on special occassions. So my vote is William!

Isn't 'Hyacinth' the first name of Mrs Bucket from "Keeping up appearances"?...

I know a gardener who named his daughter Hyacinth because "it is the sweetest smelling flower". I had tears in my eyes! no idea what the flower smells like. I wouldn't recognise it either tbh

QueeferSutherland · 11/04/2011 22:44

I have a Blossom, and always thought I'd call a boy Berry if I had one. Like Berry Gordy.

I like;

Berry
Acer
Rowan
Sylvan

serin · 11/04/2011 22:56

Cedar
Moss
Fox (foxglove)

Vote for Moss and Rowan on your shortlist, but really love BERRY.

burntsienna · 12/04/2011 01:11

Bubbaluv · 12/04/2011 04:04

Ormirian · 12/04/2011 06:36

Timber might be good if he had a career as a porn star Wink

How about Mower? As in Mower and Chandon. If you can call a girl Chardonnay...

Bubbaluv · 12/04/2011 07:56

Do you mean Moet and Chandon?

Woody would be good for a career in porn too!

freesias · 12/04/2011 11:53

if you really want a flower name how about
narcissus
daffodil dil for short
if not
mahogany

Ormirian · 12/04/2011 12:15
