Ha ha!! You're so right about the cleaning product!! Hmm..I do really like this and I knew a Kiwi guy called Dax, and always really liked it. I can't say I live in a community of very open minded people either!

Dax is a pretty grim place in France. It's not nice. Wouldn't name a child after it.

I hated the name 36 years ago as a child - but he is so adorable and such a cheeky mare that I couldn't imagine him being called anything else but Dax

MelinaM - Yeah, they've started calling him Sebastian all the time, so think they're tiring of Seb. Everyone calls him Seb though.

I know a Dax, his mother is Greek. I quite like it. Nobody batted an eyelid when he started working with us, well they did, but that wasn't anything to do with his name. He was quite, how do you put it, flamboyant in a Louis Spence kinda way .

I like Dax. Once you know the person you don't think of anything but their name, certainly not cleaning products.

I know a Dax and always thought it was cool (he is now in his 30s).
A friend liked it but wasn't sure whether she could get away with it, so she called her son Declan - nn 'Dex' which is close to Dax.

Also know a friend of a friend has the unusual nickname 'Pax'.

The only Dax I have ever known was a dog...sorry. Then again, I prefer even Dax to Seth.

I must admit I have never ever heard of the name shortened, Dax easy to spell easy to say one way to write.

Dax is horrible. Sounds like the nn of a rapper!
Seth is not one I particularly like as it makes me think of old men but it's WAY better than Dax.
