Tillyscoutsmum · 05/04/2011 21:37

Tabitha is lovely. Tabetha is not

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/04/2011 21:38

Tabitha or Tabatha. Although there is a school in Tel Aviv called Tabeetha School.

piebald · 05/04/2011 21:39

Sorry but it makes me want to rub my nose but perhaps you are too young to remember 'Bewitched ' on the telly
It is a pretty name though

posey · 05/04/2011 21:46

I know a Tabitha who is shortened to Tabby which is a bit feline I think. Tabitha is okay but wouldn't be my choice.

smother · 05/04/2011 22:04

Tabitha is nice but don't like the nns so much (Tabby, Tab, Tabs)

My niece called Tabitha is shortened as Tabbie.

Children become their name as soon as they are born (no matter what it sounds like before you have the baby) so go with your instinct and if someone doesn't like it - tough!

We had that we ds (Barnaby) and stupidly told everyone before he was born what we had chosen. Some family members laughed and referred to the big purple dinosaur but he's 6 now and suits his name completely - I couldn't imagine him being a Benjamin, as was our other choice.

DilysPrice · 05/04/2011 23:08

Lovely, but if you don't spell it Tabitha she'll spend her life correcting it.

Emelene · 06/04/2011 21:13

I'd use the spelling Tabitha. You could always use the nickname Beth, if that's what you're wanting with Tabetha. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but it would be OK. Or there's Tabbie, which I think is sweet.

Rhubarbgarden · 06/04/2011 21:27

Love Tabitha.

CharlieCoCo · 07/04/2011 19:58
