What do you think of this name for a boy:

Jensen Beau Goodwin

Husband. He likes American Ick Hockey and he wants this child to have a ice hockey, American, rock star name.

I want a earthy/hippy name that is known and the child will not get picked about.

Conway Francis works - ok it's is v v unusual, but why not. Avoid Troy (90s Jason), Bryn is good but I would really really avoid Chayton and Clayton (too American teen cult series).

Hope this helps - (passes more chocs)

SpringHeeledJack · 05/04/2011 09:30

Yay! Bryn Francis! that'll do!

or Francis Bryn?

SpringHeeledJack · 05/04/2011 09:31

btw I've got a Francis, and he's only Francis in exams or on the register. In RL, he's Frank. He loathes Francis

BettyGrable · 05/04/2011 09:31

Jensen and Beau both equally atrocious, sorry.

All of your choices sound like Sunset Beach characters, to be honest.

Aaron George is lovely. Can't you find another normal name like that?

Merrylegs · 05/04/2011 09:32

If you want another Norwegian name like Jen(sen) How about Espen?

Do you mean Francis when you wrote Franics?

Although Beau wouldn't be my name of choice I think with middle names you can go a bit mad and choose something off the wall - (although this works especially well with old family names).

Kurt? - is an American Rock star name. (Just saying).

MollieO · 05/04/2011 09:32

Are you American and living in a trailer park? If not your dh has no excuse. Grin

Snowdropfairy · 05/04/2011 09:32

Aaron and Bryn?

Not so keen on Bryn Confused

Right my new Baby Naming Helpline:

If the name looks appropriate in this sentence, it is not good.

[Chayton] reached out and pulled [Araminta] towards him. She tried to resist but the pull of attraction was too strong. His cobalt-blue eyes mesmerised her, she was caught in his snare. Her breasts heaving, she murmured "I should not... If Mama were to find out..." but it was no use. [Chayton]'s strong arms were pulling her closer, closer. He bent his head to take her lips...

sparklingsky · 05/04/2011 09:34

The thing is, it's the person who makes a name rock - isn't it? I think you are right to choose something a bit unusual (not really really weird) and then let the boy make his own mark (IYSWIM). Your DH needs to take stock a bit of all the reactions you'll have to deal with - and the hastle your son might get....

georgie22 · 05/04/2011 09:34

Agree with SpringHeeledJack's suggestions - would you be happy with either of those. Chayton and Clayton are a big no-no, IMO. I feel for you if naming the baby has become a battleground with your dh. He does need to think that the child has to grow up with his name, especially if he has a brother with a 'normal' name. Best of luck!!

MmeLindt · 05/04/2011 09:36

Bryn looks like mispelled Bryan to me.

Print out this thread for your DH. He may like US ice hockey style names, but your son is going to live in UK. The name is for your son, not for him.

He can get a dog and call it Chayton Beau.

breatheslowly · 05/04/2011 09:37

Not keen on Jensen - are you from Scandinavia? Beau is a bit "little beau peep" sounding for me. I generally think that boys are best served by "normal" names (like Aaron and George) rather than exciting ones. Your reserve names are rather odd - Bryn is ok if you are Welsh, Maui if you are Hawaiian (but probably still a bit odd). Are these really the names you are thinking of or are they your DP's suggestion? They just seem out of character for someone who named their first child Aaron George.

Merrylegs · 05/04/2011 09:37

No, don't leave it there, MmeLindt! Grin

MollieO · 05/04/2011 09:37

Actually OP you could be ahead of the game here. They are making a new series of Dallas and all of your choices would fit perfectly!

Snowdropfairy · 05/04/2011 09:38

Sorry i'm dyslexic yes i meant the boys spelling of the name. Its DH grandmothers name and she is 93 so we thout it would be nice to carry the name on.

If its a girl we like the following:

Georgia Franics
Evelyn Franics
Elena Isodora
Bridget Franics

But i think the baby will be a boy!

If he picks a really stupid name he will be living in a trailer park Grin

Adam Jensen? Aaron and Adam? (Jensen Adam?)

CaptainNancy · 05/04/2011 09:39

I like Jens and Jensen >

and Espen....
and Carsten
and Soren

Oh dear... I need another baby ...

But not Beau. Never Beau.

MollieO · 05/04/2011 09:39

Or you could name your son something normal like James Edward and your dh could change his own name to something silly by deedpoll. Problem solved.Grin

breatheslowly · 05/04/2011 09:39

Sorry - didn't see that they are your DH's selection. If you went with them then you would be a hockey mom, which is only one step away from lipstick on a pig.

MmeLindt · 05/04/2011 09:40

Your girls names are lovely

breatheslowly · 05/04/2011 09:40

I think that Francis is the boy's spelling and Frances is the girl's.

MollieO · 05/04/2011 09:40

What's with this Franics name?

sparklingsky · 05/04/2011 09:41

Fantastic girls names! Yay! Does your DH pick the boys and you the girls? Why are they soo different??

Captain I'm with you - except Carsten (sounds like thrush meds)

MollieO · 05/04/2011 09:42

Sorry just seen your other post. Francis/Frances is a lovely normal name.
