My niece is Florence. We love it but she is called Floss by everyone, including her parents. My son called her Fondant before he could say Florence :-)

Was my girl's choice - but had boys Grin

It's my gift to you.

A1980 · 04/04/2011 22:09

It's nice but a bit meh.

Flo, flossie, etc. Bit boring

Boogiemumma · 04/04/2011 22:09

Fondant, lol, thats lovely. I'm with you, like most of the abbreviations od Florence, Floss, Florrie but not so keen on Flo.

longislandicetea · 04/04/2011 22:13

Beautiful, Love it :)

sunshinescarlett · 04/04/2011 22:39

Love it

whysolate · 04/04/2011 22:40

I really like it!

suspiria · 04/04/2011 22:47

I really like it Floss and Florrie are adorable for when she's little. Flora is another short form that I think is lovely.

bananamom · 05/04/2011 00:08

It is everywhere at the moment. The new Matilda.

pinkgirlythoughts · 05/04/2011 11:15

Too common. I know it only made the top 100 in 2009, but I was already sick of hearing it in my area well before then. Quite a pretty name, though.

CharlieBoo · 05/04/2011 11:25

It's exploded in popularity... I agree its the new Matilda, the yummy mummy brigade think it's a bit different and then discover there are millions of them at their local playgroup. Really like Florence though.

lovenest · 05/04/2011 12:21

I think Florence is beautiful, I know a little Flo and she is v cute.

herethereandeverywhere · 05/04/2011 22:34

I love it. I have one, she's 17 months old. I waited 10+ years to use my very favourite girls name ever and just when I do it gets bl**dy stupidly popular! That said, I wouldn't change it for the world.

Not keen on Flo. Like Flossie but she's not a Flossie.

SolarPanel · 05/04/2011 22:58

Lovely name.

Lavitabellissima · 05/04/2011 23:04

I've got one too, love the name, it was no. 80 in 2009, I think it will probably be in the top 20 for 2010 (list comes out Sept 2011) there are 3 I know of at the local childrens centre.
