What are your thoughts, we already have an Archie and a Tom and are expecting no 3 in June, which will probably be a boy! However I thought I had chosen Flora Elizabeth, but now am umming and aahing over Jemima in case we have a girl...

What do you think??? Probably do something like Jemima Rose...nickname Mima (My-ma)

I love this name but am worried about any 'puddle duck' associations, do kids still read those books?

Flora Elizabeth is lovely as is Jemima. Rose as a middle name is BORING and don't like Mima as a nn.

Ahh, I love love love Jemima. I couldn't have it for dd as its my bestest friend in the whole worlds name regret for her dd. As in she wishes she'd have gone for it (her dh didn't like it). Therefore I felt I couldn't do that to her.

We have a huge Jemima Puddleduck and dd loves it and calls her Mima (myma) all the time....seriously cute, classy, sophisticated and beautiful. Go for it.

Jemima is great. (I wanted it but DH said no). There's an association with every name, and puddle duck isn't that bad. I'd be more concerned with Flora as a tweenie/teenager (she spreads etc). Still it is pretty, but I wouldn't... Elizabeth is not used much and a bit different at the mo...

Love it too, on our shortlist. I do think it may be a bit middle-class but I can live with that! Never thought of my-ma nn, makes it even more appealing to me!

It is lovely, if you can pull it off. It is a rather posh sort of name though. Flora is less exclusive.

Thanks everyone...think we will stick with Flora but will keep Jemima in the running, wont get a chance to use it probably! Will just have to have another one!!

I wasted Jemima on my cat, thinking I would not ever be having anymore children. Now I am pregnant and I can't use it! gah!

I love Jemima, but do know a Jemima who was called Jemima Puddleduck at playschool by another child. Not a malicious thing, the other child just had the Puddleduck book and whenever she said Jemima is just came out as Jemima Puddleduck.

I have a Jemima,and she really suits her name.
Didn't meet any other Jemima's for years,then one joined her class at school!
Ithink it is a classy,suits all ages name,and she has never had many Puddleduck associations at all.

I am having a girl after having 4 ds and she is most likely going to be Jemima Rose. I really love it.

love it, love it, love it! Think it is a prettier name than Flora, and will suit a girl/woman of all ages. Flora sounds both little-girl name and ancient all at the same time (IYKWIM!)

I love these kinds of names like Imogen, Iris, Amelia, Olivia etc - they don't seem to age or date at all.
