I love Hero actually, though with Harper it's all very zeitgeisty. I prefer it to Ava- which apparently she wanted to be pronounced 'ah-va' but couldn't persuade people to say it that way.

Opinions?

I love the name Hero...was on our list for DD!

Bugger it will now become bloody popular!

Just found the thread on Chat, but it's ok to have one here too I'm sure!

I'm a bit gutted at Hero actually as I was keeping it in the back of my mind in case we change our minds and go for another baby!

Ava skyrocketed after she used it, well I know of one ha.

Here's the Chat thread.

I think Hero's a lovely name.

ilovesprouts · 26/03/2011 11:56

not keen to be honest ..but its her baby

randomimposter · 26/03/2011 12:33

the only Hero I know is a boy... BIG name I think. As in you've gotta be a BIG personality to carry it off.

Congrats to her on safe arrival.

tigermummy35 · 26/03/2011 13:50

Hero reminds me of Shakespeare, such a lovely name.

ValiumSingleton · 26/03/2011 14:33

Ava was already popular before MK used it. I quite like Hero but I wouldn't have put it together with Ava. One is so mainstream and the other is kind of quirky.

What's the child's sur name? her partner is Irish I think. It could sound a bit comical if it were Hero Ryan. Mind you, Hero Wilkins for example wouldn't work either.

Anybody know what sur name the children use?

ShowOfHands · 26/03/2011 14:35

Quinn.

ValiumSingleton · 26/03/2011 14:41

Hero Quinn

That's ok. Sounds a bit like Harlequin! but that's not terrible.

othersideofchannel · 26/03/2011 14:57

Hero sounds like a boys name. As does Quinn - my nephew is a Quinn.

meditrina · 26/03/2011 15:02

Quinn is the surname.

Hero has been a girls' name since Byzantine times, and has cropped up frequently in English literature: link.

Onion1968 · 26/03/2011 17:50

horrible.

Jemma1111 · 26/03/2011 18:04

I think its an awful name, poor kid

PussinJimmyChoos · 26/03/2011 18:06

Reminds me of a chocolate bar to be quite frank

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 26/03/2011 20:06

I think Hero is lovely.

SilveryMoon · 26/03/2011 20:11

Hero? Pronounced Hero? For a girl? For a person? Awful. Awful. Awful.
