I think Harry Harrison would be a bit silly Grin

On the other hand Harry Hodgson (for example) sounds OK, tho alliteration in names is not my fave thing.

Arthur is a lovely name. Arthur Henderson. Brill.

Defo Arthur. Too many Harrys now. Arthur is a great name.

Clary · 25/03/2011 00:24

Actually that is true there are too many Harrys (sorry to any mums of them).

I work in a secondary school where about half the kids are Asian. Obviously half of the rest are girls. So let's say there are about 300-max white boys in the school (1200 pupils in total).

T'other day I was looking on the electronic register for a kid called Harry and searched under his first name - 14 Harrys came up! There are 4 in yr 7 alone - and believe me when I tell you we do not have a lot of Georges, Williams or Freddies (which I would put in a similar bracket in terms of style).

I think it may be to do with the boy wizard...

Awww, DS's two grandads' names.

We used Arthur as his MN name as my dad died shortly before he was born.

Love Harry too, but as DS is a William, sadly will have to avoid...

Both smashing IMO.

Harry

pilates · 25/03/2011 12:12

Arthur, not keen on first names starting with the same initial for surname.

vaginiasmonalogue · 26/03/2011 08:52

Arthur. Harry's everywhere!

issy123 · 26/03/2011 13:47

Like Harry but its one of those names that is too popular now and is loosing something because of it.

Prefer Henry anyway
