Hi there, first post :)

Would like to hear opinions on Christy for a girl (although we don't yet know what we are having)...

Thanks!

I like it. I like Christina too.

randomimposter · 21/03/2011 08:04

Yes I do quite like it. I like a longer name for BC and grown up days personally, so maybe Christina or Christiana for best?
I prefer Cristina spelling, but heard to get Christy from that I suppose Hmm.

ValiumSingleton · 21/03/2011 09:02

it seems like a man's name to me, but I still like it for a girl. Prefer Christa though. Christabel is beautiful.

PepsiPopcorn · 21/03/2011 09:55

I like it. Also like the other suggestions above.

pirateparty · 21/03/2011 09:58

I used to know a girl called Christy and she used to get called Crusty. A lot.

So that's all I think when I hear the name. Sorry - I always feel bad writing something negative in the names threads, but I'm guessing people post to hear all opinions/ experiences.

deemented · 21/03/2011 09:58

Dislike it immensely. But that may be because i know a six year old Christy who's not very nice...

Hedwig3 · 21/03/2011 10:20

I think I like it.

Valinor · 21/03/2011 11:25

Christabel nn Christy is lovely.

Julenelle · 21/03/2011 11:47

I like it, however I always thought it was a male's name. I'm thinking of the singer Christy Moore.

PQR · 21/03/2011 12:10

Really like it :)

rachel234 · 21/03/2011 12:42

Lovely nickname for Christina which I love. Makes a refreshing change from all the Millies, Tillies, Lillies around these days Smile.

cumbria81 · 21/03/2011 15:02

I prefer Chrissy

BlueChampagne · 21/03/2011 16:52

Julenelle I think it's in the Hilary/Lindsay/Julian mould of being used for both boys and girls. I do like it though.

stressheaderic · 22/03/2011 00:05

I know a Christy (boy) and a Christie (girl). Both nice really. Bit different.

NormanNorris · 22/03/2011 00:12

It's a boys' name. I know 4 of them (full names being Christy).

mopsyflopsy · 22/03/2011 09:32

I know a lot of Christines and Christinas who get called Christy. Have never ever heard it for a boy before... Confused.

I'd put Christina on the bc and use Christy as a nickname. Lovely!

hulabula · 22/03/2011 10:06

Christy is cute for a little girl, but I'd put Christina on the bc. I like it.

FoxyRevenger · 22/03/2011 10:39

I like it, I know a lovely Kristy

Rhubarbgarden · 22/03/2011 10:45

Christina nn Christy is lovely. I also like Kristin.

ValiumSingleton · 22/03/2011 18:50

It's very much a man's name in Ireland but I don't think I ever heard it used for a boy in the UK so that would be one difference in how a name is used. There aren't too many, so it's interesting imo [geek face]

Hi thanks to everyone who responded...much to think about! (And only three weeks in which to decide!) xx
