My DH LOVES this name but I'm not sure. WDYT? Is it somehow uber trendy in its old-manishness?
Would probably be shortened to Al or Bertie

I like it, and although it's on the old-fashioned side, I don't think it's one of the "trendy" names (like Alfie/Charlie/Stanley).

I can see Albie, Bertie & Wilfie becoming the new Alfie, Archie & Charlie. I've heard of quite a few of each born this year.

I do like Albert but just not any of the nicknames. Likewise Alfred.

My favourite of the three is Arthur though.

Trouble with Albie is it will forever remind be of the psychopath in Cracker. Bertie is much better.
