what do you think of Mischa for a boys name.

terrible def sounds like a girls name (and a rubbish one at that!)

Carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2011 20:07

How do you pronounce it? I like how I think it sounds but wonder how easy it would be to go through life with it as a name.

MarionCole · 17/03/2011 20:07

I know a male Mischa. I like it but agree it could confuse people.

PepsiPopcorn · 17/03/2011 20:30

Sounds feminine to me.

meditrina · 17/03/2011 20:36

Lovely!

But I would assume Slav roots (and Mikhail as the full name).

clarkland · 17/03/2011 20:47

I taught a male Mischa, lovely lad.

QueenBathsheba · 17/03/2011 20:48

It's Russian! I love it.

RightUpMyRue · 17/03/2011 20:48

Think I'd prob go for Myka/Mika instead.

Popbiscuit · 17/03/2011 20:49

We have a lovely Russian family next door with a little boy called Mischa--he's BRILLIANT. Love it.

JemimaMop · 17/03/2011 20:51

I went to school with a male Mischa so I always think of it as a boys name.

Edmundo · 18/03/2011 22:34

I know a few male Mishcas (pn Meesh-ka) so it's all male to me. I like it.

squeak2392 · 19/03/2011 16:36

If it's pronounced Mee-sha, I'd definitely think it was a girl, but I've seen this name on a thread elsewhere and EVERYONE said it would be weird on a girl =/

I'd probably accept it on someone from Eastern Europe, but otherwise I'd just think it was weird.

There's a little girl at my school called Mischa. Also there's the actress Mischa Barton. Just to be aware that it may be considered a girls name... (even if originally a boys).
