lovely! Are their parents christian?

flopsy1974 · 16/03/2011 14:46

My brother was brought up a Christian but doesn't go now except for weddings and funerals Smile so I don't think that is the reasoning behind the name choices. I think they are lovely but my mother pulled a face this morning when she found out so I thought I'd find out what other people think.

What's up with your mum? They are really nice names and not common atm but not 'out there' either. Good choice by your db and dsil.

Minione · 16/03/2011 19:58

Ooh, lovely. Both on my list, your db and dsil clearly have good taste Wink

pinkhebe · 16/03/2011 20:00

lovely Grin

Rhubarbgarden · 16/03/2011 20:01

Hate Jonah, love Esther.

Emelene · 16/03/2011 20:02

I like them individually but somehow I'm not sure they go together. Esther just sounds like an "older" name and Jonah a "younger" name.

But they are both nice names, and both old-Testament so they match in that respect. :)

PepsiPopcorn · 16/03/2011 20:20

They're both perfectly good names. I quite like them both.

UndiscoveredApprentice · 16/03/2011 20:34

Love Jonah very very much, not so keen on Esther.

FollowMe · 16/03/2011 20:45

I know siblings called Jonah and Esther. I think they go together lovely

zingally · 17/03/2011 18:53

Lovely names individually. Cheesy combo. Sorry, but I would assume the parents were bible-bashers.

Edmundo · 18/03/2011 22:16

Very nice. I'm less keen on Jonah but it's a nice name.

Ooopsadaisy · 18/03/2011 22:23

I love traditional, biblical names.

Esther was high on my list of girls names.

Jonah wasn't but it's very close to the name that was!

hester · 18/03/2011 22:25

Absolutely lovely

SteelMagnolia · 18/03/2011 22:59

I think they are beautiful names!

squeak2392 · 19/03/2011 16:17

They're both lovely and go great together Smile.
I automatically think of Noah's Ark (not that they're in there) but that's not a problem imo, it just makes them go better together.
Although, on that note... make sure they don't name their next Noah.

Lovely!
