There was a lady on a C5 Aiport program yesterday whose name was spelt "Marie-Lile" (it came up on screen a few times) and pronounced "Milly".

How does that work then?

Getting very nervous until I read your final question and let out a huge sigh of relief. No idea how that works. Most odd, maybe usual abroad? (only sane answer I can think of!)
