This is about my third baby name thread, sorry, am being v indecisive!! Grin

DH and I have narrowed our name for DS3 down to 5 options.

Milo
Leon
Jonah
Nathaniel
Miles

DH really loves Miles. I am not 100% on it and Milo is my compromise suggestion.
I really like Leon, Jonah and Nathaniel (Nate)

We already have an Oliver and a Teddy. What do you think for DS3?

Thanks Smile

Milo is this drink: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_(drink)

I like Jonah and Leon best. Miles it too much like kilometres.

LadyCLC · 08/03/2011 13:16

I like Miles or Nathaniel?

Excuse me for being daft but how do you pronounce Nate, is it how is sounds like hate with an 'N' or is it pronounced Nath ??

TallulahDoesTheHula · 08/03/2011 13:24

Yes its just like Mate or hate, but with an N.
You could shorten Nathaniel to Nath as well if you wanted to though! (or Nat, its quite versatile I think!)

I like Nathaniel and Milo best, then Leon.

Milo

[biased]

BarbieLovesKen · 08/03/2011 13:32

Milo
Leon
Jonah
Nathaniel
Miles

Seen thread title and thought "what lovely names" Smile.

I adore Leon but we already have (a very close) family member named this (little boy) so cant use it Sad. Number one for me.

Finding it difficult to choose/ rank the next 3 as they are all lovely but probably in order: Nathaniel, Milo and Jonah for me.

I like Miles least.

rachel1970 · 08/03/2011 13:32

I like Leon best, followed by Jonah (although the meaning would probably put me off).

Nathaniel is ok - how do you pronounce it: Nath-anniel?

Not keen on Milo (also think of the drink) and Miles.

FireAndRain · 08/03/2011 14:46

I only really like Miles from this list (actually really like this name), and Milo..... Really not keen on Leon, Jonah or Nathaniel, sorry.

babytrekkie · 08/03/2011 15:28

I would choose Leon from the list. He will probably be called Lee by his friends!
Not keen on the others sorry imo.

Feffa · 08/03/2011 20:40

Milo is an nice name and would go well with other 2. Also like Leon. Was on my list if I had a boy.

gillythekid · 08/03/2011 20:47

We have a Nate (Nathaniel on his birth cert) and we've never met another one so it's quite individual. I feel sorry for all the Olivers, Lucas' and Jacks, lovely names but every second boy has one or the other. Quite a few Milo's knocking around too but again, a lovely name. See what he looks like when he pops out!

pilates · 08/03/2011 20:53

Nathaniel is the one I prefer.

gillythekid · 08/03/2011 21:00

It means 'gift from God' in Hebrew, although I swear he came via Satan today (He's 2.7 and driving me insane)

PepsiPopcorn · 08/03/2011 21:34

All nice names, but in order of preference...

  1. Nathaniel
  2. Miles
  3. Jonah
  4. Milo
  5. Leon
Onion1968 · 08/03/2011 21:37

Hate Milo, the rest are ok

evamummy · 08/03/2011 21:39

I like Leon and Jonah.

I really dislike Milo (drink) and Miles (Kilometres) and Nathaniel is ok.

MirandaGoshawk · 08/03/2011 21:42

I like Jonah, Leon & Nathaniel.

bigbluebump · 08/03/2011 21:46

I like Jonah and Nathaniel.

How do you pronounce Milo - Meelo or Mylo? I also think of the chocoloate drink. Miles is the plural of Mile, I dislike it as a name.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 08/03/2011 21:48

I prefer the older speller of Myles than Miles

Leo35 · 08/03/2011 22:07

We two DSs and have used two of the names from your list!

Why not combine your favourites into first name with second name options and then see what he looks like when he arrives? DS1 was nearly Dominic, but he didn't look like a Dominic when he was born. We had a few options for DS2, Robert was the main one which we chose for his second name in the end.

Love Milo but it would have given our DSs a rhyming set of names. We couldn't do it to him!

Chynah · 08/03/2011 22:22

I love Nathaniel (Nate) - DSs name so biased!
