Having problems finding a name for a girl...

Having been told we are expecting a little girl in July me and hubby though 'great' we already had our name for the last 8 year...Laila.... But now i have realised there are lots of varients of this name - Layla, Lila, Lola, Lyla....ect and its become very popular in the time its taken us to get to this stage.

So now i've been completely put off cos i don't want to shout her name in the playground and several heads turn. I always wanted a unique, pretty name but it seems thats the trend at the moment so most names there were unique aren't really anymore...

Anyone else have this problem? I'm really trying to find a name thats not in the top 100 list so it doesn't get too dated and associated with the noughties/teenies.

we do like Milaina.... but does it look a little made-up as its quite unusual.

any suggestions of pretty names thats arn't too 'now' would be muchly appreciated.

anyone else have this problem trying to find a girls name??

Milaina sounds like the blood you get in faeces to me.
I like really plain names, Jane, Anna, Ellen, Lydia, Elizabeth, Alexandra etc so I am not much help.

I think if you go with Laila she will spend her life spelling it out as like you say there are so many variants. It's not overly popular where I live though.

Milaina does look a bit made up. I must admit I've never come across it before.

Some 'pretty' girls names along the same lines:

Eliana
Adela
Elora
Anya
Aria
Serena
Mariella
Marissa
Calista
Tamara
Carissa
Elysia
Thalia
Cassia
Miranda
Corinna
Dahlia
Viviana
Larissa
