With Nate for nn. What do you think?

Fine if you spell it properly. Nathaniel.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/03/2011 20:24

What rempy said.

TallulahDoesTheHula · 03/03/2011 20:29

Mis type. Am on phone.
What do you think of the actual name though rather than my typo?!

Really really like it.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 03/03/2011 20:33

Its ok. There is one in the same class as DS who is a badly behaved little brat boy, so that has sort of put me off the name.

Chynah · 03/03/2011 20:47

Love it but then DS is Nathaniel (nn Nate) so am a bit biased :)

rempy · 03/03/2011 20:48

I loved it. I would have called my son it, with the intention of calling him Nate, except I have a ridicuously long, and regularly mis-pronounced married name. So it would have been a bit much I feel, he'd have spent his whole time at school writing his name....

NorkyButNice · 03/03/2011 20:50

DS2 is Nathaniel - he's only 7months so we've not nicknamed him yet, but I expect he'll become Nate when he's older.

I love it (obviously!)

Aonach · 03/03/2011 21:14

Love it. Ttc at the mo, if we have another boy he will be Nathaniel (nn Nate).

PepsiPopcorn · 03/03/2011 21:48

Really like it (with spelling Nathaniel).

Kerri1983 · 07/03/2011 11:29

My little boy is Nathaniel and we call him Natey but I think that is more of a baby thing. He quite ofent gets Nate when people refer to him in conversation.

I love his the name but find myself getting really annoyed at Drs etc when they call his name out as Nathan, no offence to the name Nathan it just isn't my boys name Grrr.

He is Nathaniel Robert, middle name after his Grandfather.

stuffedmk · 07/03/2011 11:53

Like it!

Vicky2011 · 07/03/2011 11:56

Love it, wld probably go for Nat as the nn but it's a lovely, different without being mad, name

pirateparty · 07/03/2011 11:56

I really like it. I like Nat as well as a nn.

Would be on our short list but DH doesn't like it.

loueytb3 · 07/03/2011 13:46

I love it and really want to call my next DS it (if it turns out to be a DS). DH has vetoed it on the basis that he doesn't like names you can shorten Hmm. I like the fact that its still quite unusual here.

I love it, its a 'proper' name, love love love

mathanxiety · 07/03/2011 16:44

Like it a lot. Nat is a nice nn too, imo.

HopeCalvary · 07/03/2011 16:52

Our son is Nathanael, which is the spelling from the bible. We call him Nathan.

MrsKwazii · 07/03/2011 16:56

Lovely name, does make me think of War of the World 'No, Nathaniel, No!'. But lovely Grin

captainbarnacle · 07/03/2011 16:59

I have a 4 yr old Nathaniel - I call him by his full name! Except when I'm talking or texting about him, when he's Nat.

TheVisitor · 07/03/2011 17:01

I have a nearly 12 year old Nathaniel. He's been called Natty for short up till now and is just changing over to Nat.

timetomoveon · 07/03/2011 19:02

I really like it - it was on the shortlist for ds. Nickname either Nat or Nate - both are nice.

Onion1968 · 07/03/2011 20:31

I like it

kitkat1000 · 07/03/2011 20:45

sorry to offend (but you asked!) - don't like it at all - quite feminine and sounds far too long!
