Robin Kai

What do people think of Robin Kai for a boy (surname begins with an M - initials be RKM so nothing obvious wrong, just not sure of Robin and Kai together.

We wanted Dylan as middle name (living in Swansea) but was concerned of Robin Dylan becoing Rob Dylan and a bit too close to Bob Dylan so we have swapped to Kai so he still gets a welsh portion to his name - what do people think ?

I love Robin.

That Kai is so nasty and rough.

Why not Cai if you want Welsh?

I really don't like Kai at all.

In fact, I'm not too keen on Robin either.

Dylan is lovely.

Kai is Danniella Westbrook's son's name so unfortunately it always makes me think of head to toe Burberry chavdom.
I know a baby Robin and like it, good old fashioned name.

Isn't it Wayne Rooney's son's name as well?

I would avoid Kai for the Westbrook and Rooney associations noted above.

Robin is a bit feminine/unisex IMO. I love Dylan though!

I think Robin Dylan is lovely but middle names are very rarely used and when they are it's because someone has asked for your full name so unlikely to get shortened in the way you describe. I wouldn't worry about it and go with your original choice.

I think it's much nicer than Kai, which doesn't seem to sound as nice in my head.

I'm not keen on Robin at all (sorry) but Dylan is really nice - I would use that!
Agree with HappyCamel that Robin Dylan wouldn't be shortened in the way that you are worried about.

Love Robin but really, really don't like Kai, sorry.
