What do you all think of Kim for a boy? I really like it but think I may be the only one who does.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I am a Kim, I am 40 and I am a female.....

Not a fucking dog, how bloody rude to say that.

I was named after Kim Novak

Probably not the best boys name you could choose, I would say it is more of a girls name.

No I don't like it for a boy at all. I know a woman called Lee....she always has to sign off work emails with Regards, Lee (Ms).

upahill · 27/02/2011 22:18

I have known lots of dogs called Kim over my life but I have never known anyone to be called it.

The Op asked for opinions and this section does become a bit of a word association area.

Therefore I don't think it is rude to express a thought like this.

It was originally a male name. You'd be being traditional. Go for it if you like it. I'm a Kim (not Kimberley) (and female). Never felt my name really suited me, but never had any problems with it either.

TabithaTwitchet · 28/02/2011 22:05

I much prefer it for a boy. I think it is a great name. But the first Kim who springs to my mind after Kipling's is Kim Philby so not the best association for me.

ValiumSingleton · 28/02/2011 22:06

Kim Novak won an oscar I believe... (seems relevant today)

DandyDan · 01/03/2011 10:47

I have never heard of any dog or pet being called Kim but I have met several Kim's who are in their forties and female.

I think it's a fine name, and quite okay for a boy as well as a girl.
