Need ideas for a middle name

Have name changed as have rl friends here who know my usual nick.

Dh and I have agreed on Cara as first name for DD. Thinking of names to go with it. Surname ends in a 'ee' sound so don't want 'ee' ending names.

Have come up with

Cara Anne
Cara May
Cara Elizabeth
Cara Emma
Cara Rose
Cara Rachael
Cara Rebekah
Cara Jane
Cara Annabel

Any other suggestions? I have Irish/Mediterrean routes but we are English with a very English surname, so don't want any traditional Irish names - pretty to hear but impossible to spell unless you are in Ireland!!

All lovely. I like Cara Rebekah and Cara Elizabeth.

I like Cara Elizabeth or Rose the best.

For my DDs middle name I thought about which name I loved but was a bit too out there/may get teased/dp didn't like and used that. Just an idea of something to think about if you're still looking for new possibilities.

Cara is lovely :)

I think Cara Jane and Cara May "flow" the best of the names on your list.

How about

Cara Sophia
Cara Juliet
Cara Megan
Cara Florence
Cara Louisa
Cara Georgina
Cara Josephine
Cara Bethan
Cara Miriam
Cara Penelope
Cara Victoria

Ooh I like Cara Juliet.

Thank you all for your ideas, some great ones!

Will need to talk it over with DH to see what he likes.

I am favouring Cara Rose, Cara Jane or Cara Elizabeth I think!

Dh likes Cara Persephone.

Is he a ponce or something? I personally think it is a very ill-omened name.

Cara Miranda
Cara Delphine
Cara Maeve (Irish but easy to pronounce and spell)
Cara Lucille
Cara Noelle
Cara Beatrice

mathanxiety · 24/02/2011 20:23

Cara is Irish for 'friend' btw.

babynamechanger · 24/02/2011 20:48

Ooh I like Cara Beatrice!

I was aware what Cara meant Smile It also means Love or Dear One.

It's a sweet name and works in a lot of different languages.

ItsJustAName · 24/02/2011 21:35

Rose works best, I think.

GORGEOUSX · 24/02/2011 21:38

I think you should choose a middle name that starts with consonant, as Cara (vowel) doesn't sound right IMO. Grin

vintagesocks · 24/02/2011 21:54

Cara Felicity (being loved and happy is all one could wish for really!)

Cara Miranda (as suggested by Mathanxiety) immediately made me think Carmen Miranda. Do you like the Samba? Wink

babynamechanger · 25/02/2011 08:17

Itsjustaname - I am now leaning towards Rosalind.
Georgeousx - yeah I agree think it flows better with middle name beginning with a consonent.
Vintage - yes I though the same thing about Carmen Miranda!!
