My baby is due in October :)

Is this therefore a silly name? I just love it!

My DD was born on the last day of April, she could have been an April or a May,strangely didn't think of either at the time!! April is really pretty but maybe an odd choice for an October baby. How about Octavia?

crashingwaves · 23/02/2011 15:29

It isn't the significance of the month really, I just love that particular name. I'm not really keen on Octavia, sorry! Other 'possibles' are Grace, Harriet or Anna :)

I love the name April.

Janoschi · 23/02/2011 17:20

Personally think I'd avoid April if the baby was born in that month because it shows quite a lack of creativity. Name? April. Date of birth? April. Bit monotonous for the kid! October is well out of the zone so I'd go for it!

Octavia is a car these days!

ValiumSingleton · 23/02/2011 18:41

I don't like the fact that it starts with Ape

JiltedJohnsJulie · 23/02/2011 19:13

Agree with you Valium. Used to work with an April and she was called Ape all the time.

From your other suggestions Harriet is my favourite followed by the ever popular Grace.

tummytickler · 23/02/2011 19:40

I love April.
When my older two were younger we used to watch a show called Little Bill, we have all the books too. Bills older sister is called April, and she is a good female character (for a book aimed at young children anyway!)

FancyALittle · 23/02/2011 19:43

April's on my list. Though it does make me think of Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

Rhubarbgarden · 23/02/2011 21:43

I love April. And Avril.

Know it's not what you're looking for, but I knew an October. It was lovely actually. It suited her and she really liked it.

girlfromdownsouth · 23/02/2011 22:43

Love April and Grace - beautiful girlie names

crashingwaves · 23/02/2011 22:56

Thank you, I am leaning heavily towards April Katharine or April Harriet :)

I prefer Avril.

crashingwaves · 23/02/2011 23:11

I've never really considered Avril, thanks for your thoughts though.

April is a lovely name!
Can't you think of some other spurious connection to justify the month thing (parents first snog, month you decided you wanted a baby, MIL's birthday month / whatever?)

5DollarShake · 23/02/2011 23:43

I would only call a child April if it wasn't born in April!

muminthemiddle · 24/02/2011 00:11

I prefer October tbh!

Underachieving · 24/02/2011 00:52

Very pretty, especially on an October baby (nowhere near April).
