Want a one syllable middle name. My daughter (2) has decided on 'Charlie Boo' I like the sound of it but it's not going to be boo!Can you think of anything with the same ring to it.

James
Beau (but I don't like it tbh)
Jem
Luke
Mark

Not Mark - had forgotten surname!

spiderlight · 22/02/2011 21:27

The first thing that sprang to mind was Charley Bear!! ;)

privategodfrey · 22/02/2011 21:31

John (boring but goes quite well)
James

Don't pick a name beginning with 'O' as you also have to think of how his initials will look, lol.

PortBlacksandGinLane · 22/02/2011 21:34

Alexander would flow well.

Not Jeremy eh?

Underachieving · 22/02/2011 21:34

Ben works I think. Charlie Ben Clarkson?

CharlieBoo · 22/02/2011 22:01

I have a Charlie James who is 6 next week. James is a family name for us. My pet name for him has been Charlie boo since he was a baby. How about his dads name?

BelligerentGhoul · 22/02/2011 22:03

Although I suggested Jem (because I like it!) I think it's probably best to avoid another name that feels like a nickname - eg Charlie Ben / Charlie Matt - because it feels a bit unfinished imho.

Ross
Ryan
Reece/Rhys
Joel
Joe
Jake
Zack
Flynn
Sean

I agree about avoiding a middle name that sounds like a nickname. There are many shortened versions I like but I want his middle name to be a 'whole name'. Dad's name is Ian (I'm not keen on that). Liking Joe, Jake, Flynn, Reece, James, Ben. Charlie Boo I'm glad that may daughters choice of name for her new brother is a valid one, sounds lovely as a nickname.
PortBlacksandGinLane Aexander does sounds good hadn't thought of that! I think I would have to add a second middle name with it though as privategodfrey mentioned avoiding 'o' middle names because of what that spells out I also think 'a' middle names has the same issues. Thanks for all your great ideas. Keep them coming.x
