opinions needed

is ara ,ari or even mabel a nn for arabella

How about Amabel (means lovable)? A bit more unusual but the nn Mabel fits very well too.

Clarabella will always be a friesian to me I'm affraid.

Arabella is nice, if you think you're posh enough to pull it off.

Clarabella is way over the top! Gives me visions of Thomas's carriage decked out in frills and bunting for Coronation Day on Sodor Shock.

Clara on the other hand I really like though may be biased by the memory of a much loved great aunt Clara...

Arabella has a lovely 18th century ring to it (I am a bit of a Georgette Heyer fan!).

How about Amabel? Very pretty and unusual.

...and another vote for Christabel!
