Too close for comfort?

I really like the name Edie and it is the only name my DH and I agree on. However one of my closest friends has a little girl called Evie. We don't live nearby and they won't be at school together or anything. Is it too close for comfort?

No, that is fine ... different names, different schools, different set of friends for the kids - go for it.

absolutely not

two of my nephews have names that are basically different versions of the same name: they live a couple of streets from one another and used to go to the same school, caused no problems whatsoever

my mum otoh changed her mind about my name after she had found out that 3 other mums on the ward were calling their daughters by that name

I've never had anything to do with another person with that name- but I always had at least 2 people in my class with the name she did then decide to give me Wink

just go for what you like

It's fine :)

Phew! We don't even know if we are having a girl yet, so it may never come up, but good to know that the consensus is that we will be ok. Im sure I'll keep looking at other names, but finding something we both like for a girl has been quite hard...

it*s fine. it would be weird if it is the absolutely same name, but they are far enough different not to be confused (imo).
I like that name too, lovely.
