Thoughts? Our surname has an "x" in it so worried might be overdoing odd letters. Would be good for scrabble points though!

HeartShapedValiumSandwich · 18/02/2011 18:28

It's beautiful.

MelinaM · 18/02/2011 18:30

Lovely nameSmile x

pointydog · 18/02/2011 18:35

I quite like it. In a retro way.

Imps7 · 18/02/2011 19:00

Love it - it's on my (non-pg) shortlist! Am actually a bit upset that someone else is thinking about it!!! Is it normal to become totally protective of a name you've chosen???

Deciduousblonde · 18/02/2011 19:27

I love it.

A very good friend of mine's mum was called Hazel, and I loved her to bits..so have always had a soft spot for that name anyway.

Not very widely used either Smile

ilovedjasondonovan · 18/02/2011 19:33

Our DD1 is called Hazel, so I'm a bit biased.
Have yet to come across another one and she is 4 and a half.

Love it!!!! Took her a while to work out that there wasn't a Mummy Tree and Daddy Tree as well as a Hazel tree and she known as nutty or Hazelnut (I am NOT a nut she says). Te he.

Imps7 · 18/02/2011 19:39

Ooooh please don't use it Teacup I want to keep it for me!!!

(Sorry, a bit hormonal tonight...)

cowboylover · 18/02/2011 19:41

I think its really nice!

UrsulaBuffay · 18/02/2011 20:31

My Mum's name, so find it a bit odd and middle aged, always felt it was harsh sounding

Rhubarbgarden · 18/02/2011 22:42

I love it and was gutted when dh vetoed on account of Hazel bloody Blears.

IHeartKingThistle · 18/02/2011 22:45

DH vetoed it too. Love it love it.

OliveMalay · 19/02/2011 00:18

Sorry but I don't like it. However there's nothing wrong with it and I don't think the x and z would be a problem.

chubbymummy · 19/02/2011 00:30

I hate it! Mostly, no actually fully because it's dh's ex's name and she spent many months making silent phonecalls to my house in the middle of the night when we first got together. She stole my number from a mutual friends phone when they weren't looking, Bloody freak. Funny how a name can instantly make you vomit in your mouth! (although if it hadn't been for this big knobber I'd have nothing against the name and actually quite liked it until she came along!)

LoopyLoopsHulaHoops · 19/02/2011 00:34

On my list, will probably be middle name if this one is a girl.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/02/2011 08:12

Love it!

tummytickler · 19/02/2011 10:48

Really lovely. It has been one of my favourites since I was a little girl - I used to have loads of dolls called Hazel Grin

SilkStalkings · 19/02/2011 11:31

Love it, normal, classy name, cute and pretty but with witchy magic too. 10/10Smile

flower38 · 19/02/2011 11:37

Sorry I really dislike it.

ShowOfHands · 19/02/2011 11:45

It's a beautiful name. I know of 2 baby Hazels locally and when introduced to both of them had genuine moments of 'that is lovely'.

V pretty name.

TeacupTempest · 19/02/2011 23:32

Galdem · 20/02/2011 13:21

Lovely

Underachieving · 20/02/2011 13:25

I really like it and would have happily called my baby Hazel were it not for OH having once had an ex called that.

Not a bad ex I hasten to add, just a normal lady.
