Anyone else just not really like boys' names?

I'm currently 17 weeks with dc2, don't know what we're having and won't either - but I'm having the same problem I did with DD. Going through all the names, I just don't tend to like boys' names! The few that I do like are my brother-in-law's name, my sister's boyf's name and my cousin's husband!

I also like Jeffrey, as that was a family name - but DH likes Geofrrey as THAT was a family name, so no agreement there... I've gone through the family tree and turned up such gems as Walter and half a million Johns and James's -sigh-

I looked through the top 2000 boys names and couldn't find any I really liked. Not that I'm going to have another child anyway!
Some suggestions:

Merlin

Xander/Alexander

Lex

Problem # 679 - pets! Merlin is DH's beloved auntie's beloved dog!

Alexander is my cousin, and Lex is just the bed guy from Superman Grin Proper argument against Lex is that friend's DS is Dexter - but called Dex

I had this problem too - I could have named DD 100 times over, but the boys names list had one name on it, and it wasn't one I particularly liked it was just the only one we both thought was ok. All the boys names I liked are already in use in our wider family.
Roderick is a great name by the way!

If you both like Jeffrey but disagree on the spelling - why devise some competition between the two of you to last the duration of the pregnancy with the victor choosing the spelling?

For example, you could see how many times you could bring the name Jeffrey into everyday conversation with family without letting on this is your chosen name. (You can have a complicated points system, if that floats your boat.)

Or you could see who could find the longest list of famous Jeffrey/Geoffreys over the next 20 weeks.

Or you could start rival petitions, with the longest list of genuine Jeffrey/Geoffreys being the victor.

mellicauli Excellent, I love this idea! I'd just have to choose a game I'd be dead cert to win Wink I think there may be more famous Geoffreys than Jeffreys though Sad

Opposite reaction to Robert here I'm afraid - he's a creepy guy we know who is camp as they come. Yet his Facebook profile says interested in women Hmm Something about him's just not right so wouldn't use the name....
