My sister is expecting a girl in March, and so far this is her shortlist. Possible middle name of Sarah or any combination of the above

Opinions please

My favourite of those names is Josephine. Then Beatrice. Not that keen on Rosa or Flora.

Hatterbox · 16/02/2011 10:47

Josephine for me, closely followed by both Rosa and Beatrice.

I'm afraid I just think of margarine when I hear Flora.

I like the combos of Josephine Sarah, Beatrice Sarah and Rosa Beatrice.

Trinaluce · 16/02/2011 10:49

I agree, Josephine's gorgeous (it's on our list Smile)

BettyDouglas · 16/02/2011 10:49

Josephine Sarah sounds lovely. Personally, I'm not so keen on Flora or Rosa but they're perfectly nice names. Though I do like Rosalind which you can shorten to Rosa. Confused
Beatrice also nice. Smile

smother · 16/02/2011 10:54

In order of preference:

Rosa - my favourite, love this - esp with nn Rosie.
Josephine - really like nn Josie, would use that on a day-to-day basis
Flora - like but would be put off by the margarine association
Beatrice - have an irrational dislike of this name so probably not the best judge of its merits!

Trinaluce · 16/02/2011 10:55

Ooh, yeah, Rosalind's very sweet - I quite like Rosamund too :)

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 16/02/2011 11:55

Josephine for me but that's because I'd get you use the nn 'Posy'.

I love Rosa and Flora, too.

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 16/02/2011 11:56

Obviously that should read 'I'd get to use the nn...'

loonyrationalist · 16/02/2011 12:24

Josephine is lovely - not used enough imho. Not sure about it in combination with Sarah though. Josaphine Rosa is nice though.

melrose · 16/02/2011 13:38

Love all except Flora - spreads easily!

Subway · 16/02/2011 13:57

Rosa is my absolute favourite, but Rosa Sarah does not flow well. I also love Beatrice. Beatrice Sarah is a very elegant name.

Josephine is lovely. I like Jo as a nick name. OK with Sarah.

Not keen on Flora at all.

womma · 16/02/2011 14:48

They're all nice, but she will have unpleasant teasing with Flora

flower38 · 16/02/2011 16:30

Only like Rosa

TheOldestCat · 16/02/2011 16:33

I like them all, especially Beatrice and Josephine.

Our Josephine (Josephine Clare) is known as Josie. Not come across many others.

ShowOfHands · 16/02/2011 16:35

I have a dd with the middle name Beatrice and if I ever have another girl she will be Josephine Flora. So your sis has excellent taste imo.

I adore Josephine. Which means it's going to be vair popular. But rightly so.

teobaldo · 16/02/2011 16:49

I prefer Beatrice, Josephine is nice too, but given that is long it might be shorten in Jo (not so exciting). Bea as a nn instead is fab.

exoticfruits · 16/02/2011 17:02

Josephine

mamma2boyz · 16/02/2011 17:16

You can use Fifi as a nickname for Josephine..bit more exciting than Jo
Personally I love Flora and Rosa

BettyDouglas · 16/02/2011 17:20

Sorry but to me, Fifi is a poodles name.

exoticfruits · 16/02/2011 18:55

Fifi?!!! Jo or Josie are both lovely. You can try Fifi, but I bet the DD puts a stop to it as soon as she is able!

pointydog · 16/02/2011 19:10

Rosa is lovely

washngo · 16/02/2011 19:27

I have two nieces called flora and beatrice, so I love those but I'm biased! I do absolutely love the name rosa too though. Not at all keen on Josephine.

BettyDouglas · 16/02/2011 19:38

I have know Josephines use, Jo, Josie, Jossie and Joss. All nice.
I do like Beatrice though.

Takver · 16/02/2011 19:43

We have a Josephine - has lots of options on nnames which was a positive for us - Josie, Jo, Posy, Feenie (tho have never heard it shortened to Fifi!).

zozzle · 16/02/2011 19:43

Don't like Beatrice - too public school for my liking. Flora is ok.

Love Rosa and Josephine.
