My BF has come up with the name Airto.

Has he made it up? I can't seem to find any info on it.

Do you like it?

How would you pronounce it? i assume air-to say how it is spelt, but it looks and sounds to me made up, and i don't like it.

mrsgordonfreeman · 13/02/2011 21:43

It sounds like a Star Wars robot.

MerryMarigold · 13/02/2011 21:43

I would guess made up...it's ok as made up names go.

onimolap · 13/02/2011 21:52

I saw it and thought Ayrton (as in Senna) with a bit missing.

calaloo · 13/02/2011 21:56

Air-toe

Never heard of it and don't like it at all, sorry.

PorkChopSter · 13/02/2011 22:01

He's joking, right? Confused

catinthehat2 · 13/02/2011 22:21

It's not that Torchwood name is it? Ianto?

Pancakeflipper · 13/02/2011 22:23

Airto Throne... Got a nice ring about it....

Ayrton is a 'known' name. Went to school with 2.

CoteDAzur · 13/02/2011 22:25

Sounds like your BF doesn't know how to spell Ayrton.

FunnysInTheGarden · 13/02/2011 22:25

No, tis a weird made up name. Sounds like hairy toe

MrsDeidreIppy · 13/02/2011 22:25

Way too special I'm afraid. What about Arlo?

seeker · 13/02/2011 22:27

Oh, don't be silly!

onimolap · 13/02/2011 22:33

The Torchwood one is Ianto (a Welsh name).

QuestionNumber · 13/02/2011 22:35
Biscuit
catinthehat2 · 13/02/2011 22:38

Would that be Ianto, Onimolap? Or Ianto?
Or perhaps the other spelling Ianto?
Or then again, could be Ianto?
I'm sorry I didn't spell it Ianto the first time..

Confused
calaloo · 13/02/2011 23:13

I think i might have liked it if it was a real name. Instead I shall go and slap my BF.

Is it short for Airtex?

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 14/02/2011 14:28

Airto the kingdom? Is he having a joke with you?

ShirleyKnot · 14/02/2011 14:31

I thought this was a thread about buggies or cars or summat when I saw it in Active Convo's. So.

no.

QuestionNumber · 14/02/2011 15:05

Arto is the nearest I can find. It's short for Arthur. Or you could have Erto short for Gilberto.

myotherhalf · 14/02/2011 17:47

It's a real Brazilian name.

Rhubarbgarden · 14/02/2011 20:31

Short for Airtours?
