Nahla?

We decided on the name Nahla weeks ago for DD. Today, as I was huffing and puffing through a false alarm (boo!) DH pipes up; "I don't like Nahla now, let's call her Mavis." Mavis! I kid you not. (Nothing wrong with Mavis btw but it was the name of his family dog that died last week.) Have told him that we'll be using my choice since I'll be the one pushing her out my fanjo!

So, wdyt of Nahla? Be honest!

I like it much more than Mavis!

It's a bit Lion King, sorry I think there are much better girls names out there!

dd2 would like it, but she'd sing 'the circle of life' every time she heard it tbh. it's quite pretty. i'd avoid simba for a brother though.

Its a celeb baby name - Halle Berry-ish kid. I would never go for a name of a famous baby around the same age.

Much prefer Mavis but not if it would feel like a tribute to his recently lost dog!

My friends greyhound is called Nahla! Nice name though!

I knerw a Nahla - from Syria. It sounded nice when she said it - sort of Na-chhhh- laaaa. Rather than Gnarler, if you see what I mean.

Both nice names, but I'm with you on the dog thing. I had to veto my dh's choice of Jason, because of his dog attachment issues from childhood.
