Love Lily and Anya. Esme is okay but Marnie and Orla don't do it for me.

Lily is my favourite. Simple and beautiful.

I'm not keen on any of the others really.

One of my DD's is Marnie (could you have guessed?)

I like Marnie, it's unusual. I can also see it walking that magical tightrope of being cute on a toddler but sophisticated on an adult.

If this is your first dc, you may not know the popularity of names .... Believe me you will soon find out and I have to say every other baby/toddler round here is called Lily. This may not bother you but others from your list are not screaming top 20 at me, so you might be interested.

Marnie is my favourite name of all time and it's breaking my heart that DH hates it. He's tried to like it but just can't. I'm trying very hard to become attached to the other names but it's not going well.

Thanks CharlieBoo, is my 2nd DC, and to be honest Lily isn't popular where we are so I wouldn't discount it for that. If DS had been a girl he would have been Ava - probably one of 5 or so in his class! Still love the name, but as someone who was always knows as 'Sarah N' throughout school to distinguish me from the other 2 in my class I want to avoid the more common names.

Lily is my favourite from your list, then Anya.

Marnie - hate to say it but this is by far my favourite of your list too! What about Marcie? Would you/your DH go for that?

Orla - like this very much too

Anya - like this a lot and love Annie as a nn

Esme - very pretty but there is the pronounciation 'issue' that gets talked a about on MN - it's also getting pretty popular

Orla, Anya and Esme are all gorgeous. Lily otoh is a bit wet and insipid and also v popular. I also dislike Marnie. Partly because of the Hitchcock film but mostly because of the sound of it - Mardy Marnie. Not good.

My favourite from your list is Anya, followed by Orla. Marnie is ok but I'm not personally fond of Esme or Lily.

Love Marnie - will be on our shortlist for DC3. And DS2 was going to be Esme.
