I'm sure it can be but, to be honest, I imagine it as a girl's name first.

It's a diminutive form of Alexander, especially popular in Russia. Works like Sandy.

I love the name. But I would rather name him Alexander and use Sasha as a nickname.

I know a Latvian boy called Sasha, short for Aleksander.

Sacha is the French version, Sascha the German and Sasha the English version. All nicknames for Alexander. I like it.
