Needing a bit of external advice on possible names for DS2 please. I'm english but DH is algerian of Kabyle (Berber) origin. I've got quite an unusual name and always wanted to give my children unusual names so was happy to agree to give our DS1 a Kabyle name - he is Anir which means Angel (born 31 Dec) - but with an english middle name.

Just found out by scan that am expecting another boy and i'm really stumped, can't find anything i like.

Tell me what you think about my favourite - Maziz - shorten to Maz, does that sound a bit odd? (Means my darling son)

Other options are
Ali - works anywhere i think but boring?
Sami - quite common
Samir - sounds weird with Anir no?

Help with any other suggestions gratefully accepted...

I also remembered Rammy (no idea how its spelt) and that is even cuter than Yanis...

What lovely names!
Maziz is gorgeous (as is Anir).

I also really like Selim.

Probably doesn't go with Anir but my DS is Anwar which means light. I love Bilal and Zacariyya for boys too.

ooh maziz is lovely!!

I love Zacariyya as well but DH doesn't Sad and he has a nephew Bilal.

EricNorthmansMistress i really like Anwar but i think you're right, it sounds a bit odd with Anir.

Would be interested in what people think of Anir too...didn't know about MN back when we choose his name so it was just DH and me and i wonder whether we have saddled the poor guy with having to spell his name every time he introduces himself as people think he is Amir...Blush
