Any thoughts on Nell or Nelle??

I like Nell (or Nellie, but not Nelle), as a nn for Helen, Ellen or Eleanor.

We call our Eleanor Nelly or Nell. :)

I love it, and DD has a Nell-worthy name, but DH thinks it's dreadful - way too old lady. Please use it since I can't!

Absolutely love it, but I prefer it as a nn, rather than a name in its own right.

My DD is Eleanora 'Nell'.

Oops, my DD's name is spelt Eleonora, not Eleanora.

I love Nell, the one I know is shortened from Ellen (which is also a beautiful name).

I am biased because she is an old friend and lovely though :)

Nell is a great name as it is.

Nellie only as a nickname because of the elephant!

I suggested Nell as a nn for Helena to DH. All I got was him singing Nelly the Elephant.

When I was at school some people nicknamed me Nelly, and kids would sing Nelly the Elephant at me. Not fun!

Now, I think it's a pretty name, but I had a tough time with it at school.
