I'd never heard this name before but recently had a customer at work with it (I think he was German) and thought it sounded nice.

Any thoughts?

Sounds wrong and would be spelt wrong by everyone.

Regatta is a brand name of outdoor clothing.

I might use it for my next chicken. For some reason it sounds feminine to me.

Awful. Actually, 'Henley' would be awful. 'Henlie' is ridiculous.

Henlie would not be out of place in this area so I think it depends where you live really.

It sounds to me like a nn for Heinrich (a variant of Heini). Fine in German-speaking area, as others have noted, it may well be seen as odd elsewhere.

Sorry it just made me think of Henley Regatta!
