I'd never heard it before until I recently met someone with the same.

I think it's a lovely name! It's arabic and means "person who loves children".

I also think you would probably have to get used to correcting people's pronunciation of it though. :(

This is one of my favorite Persian girls names (it means happy) alongside Roksana and Haleh

Like dinosaur, I thought it meant "happiness". It's also spelt Haniyya and had variants Hana and Hani.

Nice, although agree with Karia that you'd be correcting people a lot.
