When you had names prepared for your first baby, did you go on and use those names for your second baby? For example, if your first was a boy and then you had a girl, did you give the girl the names you already had shortlisted for the first child?

Just wondered how many people change their minds!

When pg with DD, I had a boy and girl name prepared. When DS was born we gave him the boy's name we'd previously selected.

We had a choice between 2 boys names for #1 -never even thought of girls names as was convinced he was a boy and he was. When #2 was born (girl) she had the female version of the name we didn't use.

Only for DD1 and DS, as we had a girl's name and a boy's name for DD1. Loved both names. The rest were girls so had to make up a new one every time.

We had a boy and a girls name for first DC. DD1 was born so we used the girl name.

When Pregnant with DC2 We had again a boy and a girl's name but different boy's name Ds2 was born and called that name.

When pregnant with Dc 3 the first boy's name we had chosen came back so yes, we used the "left over name" from DD1 for Ds3

I did.

explained - we had a DD and then a DS so used our top boys and girls name. Then we had DD2 and didn't use DD1s 'reject' name, partly because we had gone off it a bit, and partly because it was quite similar sounding to DD1s name. we chose something completely new for DD2.
