First Baby Name Help!

Hi everyone,

First post on here after a long time of just reading and not joining in.. I've finally got myself a username!

We're 23wks pregnant with first baby and completely STUCK on names. We're having a surprise, so both girls and boys names are necessary.
So here goes, any opinions, suggestions for mn or suggestions for alternatives to suit both me and DH would be wonderful!

Girls:
Madeleine, Eliza, Sadie, Emilia, Imogen, Jemima
DH ONLY likes Madeleine from that list at the mo (subject to much more badgering!) and his faves are Abbey (not Abigail) and Gabby (Gabrielle at a push)

Boys:
Oliver, Isaac, Max, Conal, Leo, Noah, Ellis, Rory
DH ONLY like Oliver from above list, and has no other suggestions to offer.

Now, though I like Madeleine and Oliver.. I'm not 100% in love with either really, so would just like some opinions and advice to try and focus my mind. Also, DHs likes and dislikes are very changeable, so none of the above names are 'ruled out' yet.

Surname is Lewis by the way.

Thanks ladies!

Madeleine - OK
Eliza - OK
Sadie - like
Emilia - like
Imogen - quite like
Jemima - not keen

I wouldn't use Abbey or Gabby without the full versions.

Oliver - like
Isaac - like
Max - OK as nickname for longer name
Conal - not keen
Leo - OK as nickname for longer name
Noah - OK
Ellis - too surnamey
Rory - not keen

How about

Sophia
Cara
Emma
Juliet
Sarah
Anna
Jennifer
Clara

Samuel
William
Jacob/Jake
David
Elias
Nathan
Alexander
Daniel

Thanks for your suggestions PL, some of them I'd been thinking of too, so we're on the same lines!

Operation 'distract hubby from Abbey and Gabby' sigh will resume tonight! Smile

Eliza, Emilia and Jemima my faves from your list, and all go nicely with your surname, All are nice, least fave is Madeleine actually. (Abbey and Gabby? NO!)

Boys names - Ellis, no, and also no with surname. Would also discount Leo for same reason.
All the others are nice - with your surname would probably also go for Oliver, though it's a bit overused.

I love Jemima - i keep having "twin" dreams at moment, and if my DS-to be has a hidden twin, she'll be Jemima! but do like all the names - except agree about Abbey - although like abigail, and sme with Gabrielle.

As for boys, i like Oliver, and Rory. And noah and isaac.

Would he consider Gabriel for a boy?

What about Charlotte? Alexandra? Alexander or william?

And yeah - Eliza is nice.

Congrats by the way - on the baby and getting yourself a username Wink
