We have (for now) settled on the name Imogen Beatrice for our little girl due in March.

What are your thoughts? I'm having some wobbles as think the name may be growing in popularity. Do you know any Imogens?

both are very very very popular round here

fannybaws · 18/01/2011 13:14

Lovely, don't now any around hereSmile

moccachoccachino · 18/01/2011 13:14

I only know of one Imogen round her and that is a small baby.

I know one adult Beatrice.

Both lovely names Smile

fannybaws · 18/01/2011 13:14

know

Ooopsadaisy · 18/01/2011 13:15

Sorry - don't like Imogen.

It's the name association rather than the name though I think.

I know one Imogen who is a precious, spoilt little madam.

My dd calls her Imodium.

I laugh quietly behind my hand.

fel1x · 18/01/2011 13:16

I know 2 Imogens and no Beatrices
They are both beautiful names and nowhere near as popular as Milly, Tilly, Ella, Evie etc so if you love them then go for it!

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 18/01/2011 13:17

I don't know any school age Imogens - ar you happy with the nn Immy?

sonniboo · 18/01/2011 13:32

I know one Imogen and no Beatrices.

I personally much prefer Beatrice to Imogen. I find Imogen quite harsh and not easily pronouncable in other languages. But that is just my opinion (but you did ask Smile).

Sarsaparilllla · 18/01/2011 13:33

I like it :)

BuntyPenfold · 18/01/2011 13:34

I know 2 of each, but one Imogen is pronounced Im-o-jen and one is Im-a-gen with a hard g.

Iwantscallops · 18/01/2011 14:03

Not keen on Imogen but think Beatrice is beautiful. Imogen is quite common around these parts too - but then I have an Oliver (most common boys name I think) and wouldn't change it for the world!

flopsy1974 · 18/01/2011 15:24

Both gorgeous names and where I live I don't know anybody with either name. Lovely.

TigerFeet · 18/01/2011 15:29

I wanted to call dd2 Imogen (dh vetoed)

I think Imogen Beatrice is a lovely name

I don't know any Imogens or Beatrices, but I know that both have risen in popularity in recent years. Name popularity has never bothered me though, both my children have popular names.

sophiesmummie · 18/01/2011 15:33

I know several Imogens. Much prefer Beatrice - gorgeous, feminine name imo.

nickelbabysnatcher · 18/01/2011 15:36

I like it - both names are beautiful, and together, it's an elegant and stylish name.

LemonJessica · 18/01/2011 15:38

Thank you for your comments and opinions! - I personally wanted Ava Beatrice but that is farrr too popular at the moment. DF wanted Eliza but I'm not keen on the nicknames.. so Imogen it is :D

StarlightPrincess · 18/01/2011 15:46

Imogen is lovely. Beatrice not so much.

Celia76 · 18/01/2011 18:39

Lots of Imogen's in SW London!

StrangewaysHereICome · 19/01/2011 20:20

I love those two names together. FWIW I know two Imogens and one Beatrice.

muminthemiddle · 19/01/2011 20:53

I think it is a lovely name. Not too popular where I am either.

NewImprovedJollster · 19/01/2011 21:52

I love Eliza - but that's not what you asked!

Imogen is very nice, Beatrice is ok.

Know one of each (under 6).
