anomosity - I knew a couple of elderly Adolphs (Belgium/Holland), always called Dolph, born before the second world war. Unlikely to come back into fashion here!

I can see Colin and Beryl coming back as well, especially if you look at the meaning of those names, I can see the appeal.

Yes, Adolph sort of slides under the wire a bit better than Hilter, doesn't it Belgo. I didn't know Dolph was a form -

Saw a film last night with a character called Majorie. DH and I turnsed to each other and said "You don't get many of those anymore".

I know of several baby Herberts.
I always thought names like Francesca, Miranda, Miriam etc were awful and would never come back, but they are!

DD's name is on that list.

Stanley is incredibly popular around here and is expected to be in the top 20 in the next few years. There are also lots of Franks and Elsie's. We would use Stsnley but it is far to popular around here for us to use. I like Queenie though and think that is unlikely to become popular again.

I can actually see all those names becoming fashionable again. I know a baby Edith and Horace. And I quite like Susan and Paulina.

I think we will soon get bored of the cutesy type names (Alfie, Archie, Evie, etc) and look for more solid names.

Half of those names are used today and the other half just haven't hit their time again yet. Our grandchildren or ggrandchildren will be called Linda, Tracey and Sharon.

Stanley is really back- I know loads of stanleys (probably thanks to cath kids ton)

I like most of those names, and a couple are definately popular in my area.
Denise , Barry and Kevin are probably safest if you are trying to avoid a popular name .
Wendy (as a nn for Gwendolen), Gladys, Queenie and Marjorie are all on our list for a dd.
I also love Geoffrey and Godfrey but dh says no!

Aww I adore Edith but my other half says no! I've also met two baby Elsies recently.

I think "Granny" names will be popular with our children's generation, so the Kevins and Nigels, Lindas and Sharons will come back. I have given my youngest child a name from that generation, and it's great- Not a weird, out there name but no-one of his age has it.

What about Norbert? My Dad has a friend called Norbert - he goes by Nobby. Bet that won't be creeping up the top 100 any time soon.

I know a few little girls called Elsie and two little boys called Frankie (who will no doubt become Frank when they're older), so wrong there.

I also know a little Edith and a Herbie.

I don't think you can ever say 'never'.

I would never have guessed that names like Iris, Ivy Violet and Esme, or Stanley, Archie etc would become so popular.
