DH absolutely adored the name Lenny, Leonard was his fathers middle name and would like to carry the name on. He would not even think of other names as he loved it so much!I did not like it to start off with but I have started to come round to the idea.
DH has just admitted to me he is now not sure about Lenny as he is worried what others will think and how our son will feel about it as he grows up!
I now like the idea of Lenny with Andrew as a middle name (again a family tradition)
I told him I would ask for your opinion.....

er...sorry

i really dislike it...sorry.

annasophia · 15/01/2011 22:27

I know a girl called Lenny, short for Leonora.

Quite cute for a boy too though.

dustyhousewithdustypeople · 15/01/2011 22:28

I love it, also Kenny. BUT, I recognise that no one else does, so neither of my sons are called Lenny.

frazzled74 · 15/01/2011 22:29

love it, think its a cool name.

JimmyTarbuck · 15/01/2011 22:31

it's great. I would happily have a Lenny.

tammytoby · 15/01/2011 22:31

Not keen, sorry. Also don't like Kenny.

pointydog · 15/01/2011 22:45

I like Lenny a lot.

frazzled74 · 15/01/2011 22:46

you could call him Lennon ,Leo,Leon,? personally like Lenny anyway, infact i am almost contemplating a 4th child now just to call him Lenny.

cece · 15/01/2011 22:47

I really like it. I also really like Ronnie too though!

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 15/01/2011 22:48

No, not cool, nice, funky, cute or anything else of that ilk. Imvho.

NW20 · 15/01/2011 22:49

No no no.
Reminds me of the character from 'Of Mice and Men'. Which is NOT a good thing.

simonedeboudoir · 15/01/2011 22:52

For the love of god, no. Just don't.

Sorry.

ascouser · 15/01/2011 22:53

Love it.... you won't be getting two in the class at school. Love it love it

Did I mention that I love it?

bulby · 15/01/2011 22:57

Just Joe your child doesn't study 'of mice and men' in high school!

FlorenceDaphne · 15/01/2011 23:00

"And I get to feed the rabbits, George!"

Never a good connotation.

babybear1983 · 15/01/2011 23:03

I'm guessing it's a name you either love or hate. Thanks for all your opinions, love the honesty.
It has been banded about for so long I can't think of any others. Dont want to do the usual popular names in my area but dont want anything too unusual!

Our selection of girls names was much easier to come up with!
Why are boys names so difficult??

At least it wouldn't be spelt the same way as 'of mice and men'
That has to be something surely??!

Lenny is dreadful.

KittyFoyle · 16/01/2011 01:12

I think it's cute. But beware the Of Mice and Men comments.

Sarsaparilllla · 16/01/2011 02:15

I like it, and my friend's little boy is called Lenny

mathanxiety · 16/01/2011 03:39

I love it for a girl (thinking of Dutch singer Lenny Kuhr here ), and it's nice for a boy, but Leonard I can't warm to.

(I like Ronnie too, Cece)

ensure · 16/01/2011 18:40

Hmm yes it must be a love or hate name. I love it! It sounds cool to me.

Greeninkmama · 16/01/2011 19:41

I know a little Leonard - named after Leonard Cohen. Have to sayi thought it was a bizarre name but he's lovely. I think kids just grow into names. If you love it, have it. It's justnot going to be a popular choice.

Choufleur · 16/01/2011 19:41

Immediately think of 'of mice and men' despite Ds being friends with a boy called Lenny.
