My best friend is due tomorrow and still no definate names but has recently heard the name Elsa and really likes it. Her hubby loves it too.
She doesn't like any other alternatives (Elsie, Eloise) Her other chosen names are Lily or Anna

WDYT? Personally I love it.

Love it. Far more classic and grown up than Elsie. I do slightly prefer Elspeth though.

LetThereBeRock · 12/01/2011 11:41

I'm not a big fan,but it's pleasant enough, though I now have 'Born Free' stuck in my head.

flopsy1974 · 12/01/2011 11:44

Lovley name.

Goingspare · 12/01/2011 11:45

I like Ailsa, which should be pronounced slightly differently, but often isn't.

PlanetLizard · 12/01/2011 11:59

I prefer her other choices of Lily or Anna. Also like Ailsa.

Elsa will get "Born Free" comments which may become tiresome.

sparkleshine · 12/01/2011 12:17

Hmm Ailsa, interesting and also lovely but will mention it on fri when I see her. Could be hard to pronounce though for some people.

I've never seen Born Free so not sure of connection. Don't think she has either.

Thanks x

I love Elsa even though there will always be the born free conection.

tammytoby · 13/01/2011 11:53

Lovely, underused name - sweet for a girl and lovely for an adult.

sometimesinthefall · 13/01/2011 15:36

Absolutely love it. Great choice.

TeenageWildlife · 13/01/2011 15:37

Beautiful name

Lovely, and I love Ailsa too. Far nicer than Elsie and Eloise. Of her alternatives I would choose Anna. Lily is way too popular.

sparkleshine · 13/01/2011 16:56

Hmm well we don't know any Lily's so that wouldn't be a problem.
Have text her the name Ailsa. Now made her name choice longer. Hubby not as keen though apparently.

She was thinking to put Lily Anna together which sounds lovely I think.

What about Elsa Lily? Another suggestion.

My DC1 was going to be Elsa, I loved the name, still do. Turned out to be Albert instead though Grin

JessicaRabid · 13/01/2011 17:28

From the amount of little Elise/Eloise/Elsies I've come across recently I can't help but think its going to go the same way as Eve/Evie/Eva, pretty names just far too many. Obviously Elsa is a bit different but still falls in with the others I think.

MissFit · 13/01/2011 18:39

Aisla reminds me of Home And Away and Alf and Aisla Stewart. And not in a good way.

I really like Elsa.

Dislike Ailsa (think of home and away and Alf saying a drawn out 'Ale-sa'.
