Adam or Andrew?

Baby boy is due in a few weeks, and we have narrowed down the list to Adam or Andrew....DD has a Scottish name, and Andrew is a family name, but I also like Adam. What do you think?

Adam is a great name.

BelligerentYhoULE · 31/12/2010 19:08

Both great names but I prefer Adam.

Notevenamouse · 31/12/2010 19:08

I prefer Andrew, they are both nice but for some reason i always think of Adams apples but I suspect I am extremely unusual Grin

curiouscat · 31/12/2010 19:09

I prefer Andrew and you get the nicknames Andy/Drew etc. Adam sounds too lumpy and blunt to me, like a piece of apple stuck in my throat. Sorry.

Greedychops · 31/12/2010 19:09

I prefer Andrew too, but don't mind Adam.

SparklyMartini · 31/12/2010 19:15

Both good, but Adam is my preference.

thisisyesterday · 31/12/2010 19:16

Adam is my fave

itsawonderfuldarleneconnorlife · 31/12/2010 19:18

I wouldn't use Andrew as a firstname as I hate Andy as a nn, and I fear that is inevitable.

Adam's solid, IYKWIM.

FIMBOisfirstfootin2moro · 31/12/2010 19:20

Adam - it's my ds's name. It has Scottish connections. My Adam has Duncan as a middle name.

allnightlong · 31/12/2010 19:22

An Andrew doesn't have to be Andy could be a Drew.

pinkhebe · 31/12/2010 19:22

andrew Grin

BarbieLovesKen · 31/12/2010 19:23

They are both lovely but where I am every.single.family who has a boy in it has an Adam. Honestly. For that reason, Adam is slightly ordinary and boring to me now.

Andrew is an absolutely gorgeous name, I've always loved it. Think its classic and wont date.

Rhubarbgarden · 01/01/2011 08:52

Love Adam.

meandjoe · 01/01/2011 09:14

Adam definitely! It's timelss yet sounds modern. Andrew sounds a bit dated although still a perfectly nice sounding name but just a bit dull.

TheFeministParent · 01/01/2011 09:15

Neither....Angus is much nicer.

yama · 01/01/2011 09:16

Andrew by a long, long way.

Macrophage · 01/01/2011 09:18

Like them both but Adam is Dh's name and ds's middle name so that's just swung it.

Both good solid proper names though. You can't go wrog with either of them IMO.

blueshoes · 01/01/2011 09:48

Andrew

fallingandlaughing · 01/01/2011 12:27

Andrew, although Adam is OK.

spidookly · 01/01/2011 12:37

Andrew is a great name

Firawla · 01/01/2011 12:45

adam much nicer imo

Househunter · 01/01/2011 12:47

DD2 would have been Adam if hse had been a boy Smile

AnnOnimous · 01/01/2011 12:50

I like Andrew and all its variations.

Adam depedds on the surname - as in ''He is A Dam Goodfellow'' or something like that.

jellybeans · 01/01/2011 14:31

Adam is much nicer. I have always disliked the name Andrew but have no idea why!

TheFallenMadonna · 01/01/2011 14:32

Oh, I like both. Andrew has a slight edge for me I think.
