Orla - for a Welsh/English baby?

Is it okay to use an Irish name, when neither DH or I have any Irish connections.

DH is Welsh and thinks not, although he does like the name. I have told him that it is a Celtic name, and can be used for both Welsh and Irish baby girls.

I also pointed out that his favourite footballer has an Irish first name (Ryan).

Thanks KenDoddsDadsDog. I dont like Tara. It always sounds slightly pretentious to me, its Tara Palmer-Tomkinson's fault.

Aine is too unusual Irish.

DH favourite name is Seren too. I like Helena and Faye best. I think we'll have to choose from these three names when shes born.

Although I like Eve, I dont like it as much as the other names.

I love Orla and I have no Irish connections although my husband does in r shortlist of names had it not been a tongue twister when matched with our surname. If you love it use it.
