Seffie and Effie

I like these nicknames what are they short for?

Effie is short for Euphemia (not 100% sure of that spelling). Not sure about Seffie, I've never heard it. Stephanie perhaps?

I've seen Seffie short for Persephonie (sp?)

Not heard of a Seffie. We know a Saffie, short for Saffron.

Effie sounds a bit to much like effing to me.

Seffie - Seraphina or Stephanie
Effie - Elizabeth (in Skins, anyway)

My aunt was an Effie, short for Ephigenia (not sure of the spelling sorry)

I know a Sephie short for Seraphina and a Effie short for Elizabeth

Effie is commonly used as a shortened version of Euphemia which is anglicised version of Oighrig.

I know a few. None of them this side of pensionable age though.

I taught a Euphemia last year...known as Phemie...
The only Steffie I know is short for Stephanie and I taught her a few years ago

Yes I was thinking Seraphina or Persephone for Seffie. I don't think I like any of the longer names for Effie but it's too nicknamey to give as a name on it's own. Hmmm maybe it could work for Ethel?

Love Sephy - also short for Josephine.

Effie is quite sweet. I know a little Effie, short for Aifric (Irish name).

Seffie is horrid. Sounds like a STD.

My DD calls my DS1 Seffie, his name is Seth although I am sure this is not helpful!

I have a Sevi, short for Severine. Never heard Seffie, and I think most Stephanies become Steph.
