hi all

finally we have decided our future daughter's name is going to be eloise.. i love it, feminine enough without being too saccharine! any opinions?

i am stuck for a middle name though, my surname is one syllabel and i cannot seem to find something that goes with eloise...

thanks :)

xx

I love it - bit biased though as it's dd3's name. She's Eloise Beatrice.

I love the books too.

jeremycackson · 22/12/2010 21:31

I have one and really really love it too.

Ours is Eloise Madeleine.

Desiderata · 22/12/2010 21:34

In an ideal world, we'd need your surname so it would all scan.

I don't know why, but I'm quite liking Reece, or something along those lines.

MoaningMinn · 22/12/2010 21:45

mandy1978 · 22/12/2010 22:05

oooh thanks ladies, glad you all like it. i think it is beautiful, not too common but not too rare either..

i love eloise madeline, that was our other choice as a name but being a mandy having both a maddy and mandy in one family sounded far too confusing!

also mary, that is my mum's middle name.. very much a possibility too!

i used to get called may and my middle name is jane so not over keen on those. anne i do like though.. in fact you have all given me so many options i hadnt thought of i am going to have to have a chat with my husband and twist his arm into one of these.

thanks i will report back!

its such a yummy name though.. only 7 weeks to go, so excited! my little boy is called benjamin and i think the names go well together!

The daughter I never had would have been eloise alexandra. I never had a 2nd favourite so god knows what would have happened if I had 2 girls not boys

Eloise Madeline is lovely.

I also really like Eloise Mary, I think it's really nice to have a name that means something.

Lonnie · 27/12/2010 00:53

Eloise Jacqueline

it suits longer middle names imo its a beautiful name.

oldandgreynow · 27/12/2010 12:18

I think it needs a shorter middle name as ithas 3 syllables. How many syllables has your surname?

TheOriginalNutcracker · 27/12/2010 12:23

I wanted Eloise for dd2's first name. She would then have been Eloise Olivia.

As it is xp got his way and she is Chloe Eloise instead.
