My cat is called Harley.

HolyTaxAccountant · 21/12/2010 22:26

Um, is there a third option hidden in there somewhere. I pick that. Unless it's Harpy.

franke · 21/12/2010 22:26

Harvey if it has to be one or t'other

fluffygal · 21/12/2010 22:29

My Stepson is called Harvey. His 'mother' chose the name. She is a chav. Her best mate has a son called Harley. Also a chav.

WingDad · 21/12/2010 22:31

I much prefer Harvey. My motorbike is called Harley because it is a Harley.

RudolphReindeerTuppennyTail · 21/12/2010 22:31

Are you saying my cat's a chav?

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 22:32

neither.

fluffygal · 21/12/2010 22:37

Rudolph- I didn't want to say, but now you ask.....

fluffygal · 21/12/2010 22:38

Your cats mother is a chav, I'm sure your cat has escaped his roots.

cece · 21/12/2010 22:38

Both of them bring to mind the sort of word that begins with c and ends with v. Sorry but no!

AllieW · 21/12/2010 22:40

Harley is a motorbike and Harvey is a rabbit (and an imaginary one at that). Sorry.

Edmundo · 21/12/2010 22:40

Harvey. The Harveys I know are not chavs!

RudolphReindeerTuppennyTail · 21/12/2010 22:42

fluffygal - it's worse than you think. It's Harley short for Harlequin. From chav to ponce.

ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 21/12/2010 22:45

harvey is what katie price called her son. 'nuff said.

Nightstar · 21/12/2010 22:54

You girls do make me laugh!

Yes, I'm putting a line through both names right now!

OP posts:
Tortington · 21/12/2010 22:55

harley is a bike

harvey is a 6 foot imaginary rabbit

fluffygal · 21/12/2010 23:05

Rudolph- I'm not sure which is worse......

TBF My SS isn't a chav (he is only 4) as he lives with me and has no contact with his birthmum, thus decreasing her chav influence.

ChrisTingles · 21/12/2010 23:08

I go with option 3 as well

Komondor · 22/12/2010 10:19

I don like either.

I do know quite a cute 2 year old Harvey though, and his parents are definitely not chavs (his mum just loved the name).

AnonEnormousStuffedBird · 22/12/2010 10:22

Harley is AWFUL. Not at all cool, just tried way too hard. Poor kid

Harvey is ok, but still a bit dodgy. Non-event of name, but still I wouldn't.

BalloonSlayer · 22/12/2010 10:25

I know of two teachers who have called their new sons Harley, so obviously to teachers it's a name with no bad connotations.

I know three other Harleys. One (male) had a mohican in reception. The other two are girls.

I know a lovely Harvey.

Preggersplayspop · 22/12/2010 10:28

I know a lovely Harley. I wasn't keen initially but he is so sweet and suits his name. If you love it use it, don't worry about what other people think.

NarcolepsyQueen · 22/12/2010 10:41

One of my cats is Harvey. Not sold on either name to be honest (my pussum came with the name). Keep searching!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/12/2010 10:47

Neither, personally, but if I had to choose one, would be Harvey.

SixtyFootDoll · 22/12/2010 10:52

My son is a Harvey.
WE are not chavs.
I love the name and it suits him down to the ground.

I'm sure the MNers will come up with an appropriate dull poncetastic name for you in a minute.
