I love Angus nn Gus. DH likes Gus but not Angus and suggested Gustav (as in Holst, Mahler and Klimt) nn Gus but I'm not sure I like Gustav but don't think Gus is a name in its own right. Baby on its way on the 23rd so not much time left. What do you think?

Only other name I can think of is Augustus - Gus but I don't think I would use it.

Gustav I don't really like tbh.

If dh doesn't like Angus and you don't like Gustav, is there any other name you are considering?

AllieW · 19/12/2010 21:19

That's unfortunate because I prefer Angus out of the two! Gustav just doesn't sit right to me.

What sort of names do you both like?

flippinggorgeous · 19/12/2010 21:21

I know a Fergus. Such a cute boy, called Gus by his siblings.

AnnOnimous · 20/12/2010 09:27

I know a Guius, who gets both Guy and Gus.

tammytoby · 20/12/2010 09:31

I like Gustav, and prefer it to Angus (which reminds of me steak for some reason...).

jumpyjack · 20/12/2010 09:32

Much prefer Angus to Gustav. But Fergus is good.

Muira · 20/12/2010 09:54

Angus is perfection, that's a shame. Gustav, if you don't have connections to a culture where it's a common name, might sound odd.

Just call him Gus?

jumpyjack · 20/12/2010 10:02

Or Magnus?

ShoppingDays · 20/12/2010 10:49

I like Gustav.

Angus reminds me of Aberdeen Angus cattle.

pinguwings · 20/12/2010 12:35

Think Magnus is great

Komondor · 22/12/2010 10:26

Love the name Fergus

saltasaltasanta · 22/12/2010 10:40

Agustín
Gustavo

just in case you have Spanish roots ...

polarfox · 22/12/2010 13:38

Angus- think it has more of an 'aura' about it..
