I don't know my great grandparents names - something I have only just realised. I must ask my grandma next time I speak to her, I think her real mum (who died when my gran was young) was called Alison or Alice.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 20/12/2010 02:01

John and Williamina, known as Mina. (It was common in Scotland at that time to name girls after their dads, so Jamesina, Thomasina etc were not unusual; many were shortened to "Ena." Yes, like Sharples... Grin)

And Helen (known as Nellie) and Robert.

I don't know my other grandfathers name. He died in 1939 when my dad was 2 in cyprus and not a lot is known about him. I will have to ask my mum to see if she knows.
