Depends where you live. If it's in East Anglia then I would say hell no. I knew a Hereward in his 20s, he pulled it off pretty well but there were pisstakes due to so many things around Cambridgeshire being named after Hereward the Wake.

We're in London, but hubby is from Bourne as was Hereward allegedly.

I like Howard, but not Hereward. Never heard of Hereward the Wake though. Maybe I'd like it more if I understood it.

The only boy I know called Hereward has it as a middle name.

Much depends on the area in which you live. In some parts of London, a name like Hereward will be considered rather bland. In others, it will invite much teasing.
