To go with DSs Noah, Finlay & Oscar? Is Otto too close to Oscar?

I prefer Otto. Or Hugh. But not Hugo.

3nearly4 · 13/12/2010 10:31

Please suggest some names too. I don't like names like Alfie, Charlie, Archie, Freddie etc and nothing too harsh sounding!

Hugo - its a great name!

AllieW · 13/12/2010 10:50

Hugo of those two (although I prefer Hugh/Huw).

Other possibles:

Abram
Bryn
Micah
Nathaniel
Tobias

Ludo
Eric

Thanks I do like Tobias and Ludo.

I think I will start a list. I had decided on Hugo but I'm not totally convinced.

Ruben

ValiumShimmer · 13/12/2010 11:02

Hugo, especially as you have another O in the family.

I like Hughie as well. Hugo could be Hugo or Hughie, so nice to have that option.

ValiumShimmer · 13/12/2010 11:07

My bible suggestions are Saul and Reuben
Celtic suggestions are Donald, Fergus and jago
Wildcard suggestions Marcus, Victor, Howie

you have bible, celtic and old hibernian English there, so hard to think of a suggestion that fits in with all of those equally.

but i like them together!

belgo · 13/12/2010 11:09

I met a Vickus the other day.

Hedwig3 · 13/12/2010 11:09

Hugo

but I like Otto too.

I know brothers Oliver, Finlay and Oscar

and another family Jacob and Oscar.

two great names. I love Otto though it does just make me think of Otto Frank (Anne Frank's dad).

PatriciaHolm · 13/12/2010 14:47

Hugo (but then I am biased, I have one)

I do like Otto though, but having siblings with the same initial can lead to confusion (says my BIL & SIL who have the same initial and used to open each others post all the time apparently)

How about Max? or Milo - I loved this but DH didn't!

MistletoeMush · 13/12/2010 15:10

I think Otto is too close to Oscar and I prefer Hugo. I think its nice that all your names are quite different. Other suggestions

Ethan
Reuben
Isaac
Asa
Rory
Angus

Montifer · 13/12/2010 15:39

Love Otto and don't think it's too similar to Oscar

chainedtothedesk · 14/12/2010 13:17

Agree with others that Otto is a bit too similar to Oscar. I do like Hugo or Hugh.

How about:

Max
Roman
Ralph
Frank
Reuben
Leo / Leon

MarniesMummy · 14/12/2010 13:18

Both are lovely (exactly as they are).

I think I prefer Otto (but I'm not sure).

KERALA1 · 14/12/2010 14:07

We love Otto. Especially as my (German) MIL cant stand it and said in Germany it would be the name of a farm boy Grin.

mathanxiety · 14/12/2010 16:19

We have a book called Oscar the Otter here -- reminds me of it. I love Otto but I think it's too close to Oscar. Hugo would go very well otoh.
